Paul Simpson of Little Big Mouth Ltd is an actor, director and film maker who works very successfully in schools developing public speaking, debate and poetry. He is responsible for setting up the borough’s first debating league for primary schools and organising many projects such as a local history story telling project and a public speaking competition.
Paul started acting aged just 14, when he auditioned for a part to get out of school. He was picked out of obscurity to play the lead child in 1990s film Nature Of The Beast, set in and around Oswaldtwistle, where Paul was born.
He has since gone on to play parts in Coronation Street, Heartbeat and the drama series The Street, as well as a string of stage roles. He became a regular face at Bolton Octagon and has worked frequently at The Lowry Theatre. He has recently finished a UK and Ireland tour with the National Theatre of Michael Mopurgo’s ‘War Horse’ playing one of the lead roles.
With his film company Little Big Man films he was commissioned to direct and produce the film Blackburn. This was very popular with local communities and is still used regularly in many high schools as part of their PSHE curriculum.
